Smile Sherpa Foundation welcomes every single people who wish to volunteer in Nepal. From such volunteering programs, we intend to bring out cooperative efforts off all the individuals (who maybe experts in different areas) under one platform and later, work towards achieving its common objective. While volunteering for a certain project with us, volunteer gets the opportunity to make a contribution for the sustainable development of Nepal and witness the surreal beauty of naturally Nepal as well.
According to their (volunteers) abilities and interests, we, at Smile Sherpa Foundation, place them where they are appropriate and let them do their noble work.
Education Volunteering
Volunteers will be placed mostly at local villages for teaching in schools. Normally, they’ve to teach for four hours per day. Good command over written English (both speaking and writing) will be beneficial. Previous teaching experience will be appreciated but above that, if you’re capable of making English language fun and easy for children to understand, that’ll be much appreciated. Well, we don’t limit a time frame but for teaching, minimum 15 days time should be given by volunteers interested in teaching.
Health and Safety Volunteering
Health and Safety Volunteering Program activates medical personnel and health experts to remote and isolated villages where the government is unable to provide a proper health establishment. The main activities include managing drugs, conducting general check-ups, and spreading awareness in community. Our (volunteers) work is mainly relevant to hygiene, nutrition and inoculations aiming to every needed people as possible. Interested and veteran medical and health personnel, professionals, organizations, and other pertinent groups to volunteer their services in our Health and Safety Volunteering Program are heartily welcome.
Rebuilding Volunteering
As the name implies, this volunteer program is for those who wish to work on rebuild, living and working with local communities. In this volunteering, the volunteers will be engaged in general physical works like carrying sand, cement, stones, etc., mixing sand and cement, painting the walls, etc. to quote a few. Volunteers having technical skills and knowledge about building and constructions will be highly encouraged to be a part of technical team and make the work more convenient.
